Everyone has a responsibility to reduce their individual carbon footprint, and there are lots of ways to do so.
As part of our commitment to minimizing our carbon footprint and our impact on the environment. We are partnering with the local community to participate in energy efficiency, implementing green cleaning methods and water conservation program.
We also do this by using all conflict free diamonds. We use sustainable bamboo ring box, recycled precious metal and reuse packaging materials.
We are always striving to make more changes to minimize our impact on the environment. We know they make a big difference and we all have to start somewhere.
Reprocessed precious metals serve as an important factor in Bashford's commitment to the environment, we also exercise, environmental accountability end-to-end, of the jewelry production. For instance, we utilize a vapor emissions cleaning system and a rigorous procedure of cleaning liquid emanations to preclude contaminants from being expelled into the environment.Additionally, we are dedicated to responsible labor practices. Many jewelry makers outsource their output to countries where labor and environmental criteria are badly enforced. While this may scale down costs, it often comes at the expense of product caliber as well as worker's well-being.All Bashford jewelry is crafted in the United States where the strictest labor and safety practices are observed.
WHAT SETS US APART
Jewelers that offer "conflict-free" diamonds are confining themselves to the Kimberley Process's definition. The Kimberly process has proved inefficiant at weeding out all unethically mined diamonds. At Bashford Jewelry we follow all our sources back to there original source.
RECYCLED PRECIOUS METALS
As a portion of our dedication to environmental responsibility, Bashford uses recycled precious metals in all of our fine jewelry. We ensure our customers eco-friendly gold and platinum of the highest quality. Metal mining - gold excavation in particular - is one of the most environmentally destructive types of mining, with 20 tons of ore required to produce enough gold for a single ring.
WHAT ARE THE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES OF GOLD MINING?
• Water pollution and environmental ravaging due to dirty gold mining practices • Poor safety measures for miners • Inhumane drudge practices • Neglect for the rights and interests of indigenous peoples
WHAT CAN WE DO?
We can opt recycled metals to lessen the global demand for newly mined gold. This will decrease the environmentally and socially contaminating gold and other metal mining practices. Precious metals can be reprocessed with no abjection in caliber, this is one of the beauty gold possesses, they are a naturally renewable resource.
“PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT, REDUCE DEMAND FOR DIRTY GOLD, CHOOSE RECYCLED PRECIOUS METALS.”
RESPONSIBLE JEWELRY PRODUCTION
Every assemble we cast is made with 100% guaranteed recycled and re-refined valued metals. Because our regenerated gold, silver, and platinum are rectified into their unadulterated elements, they are of indistinguishable to newly refined metals.
WHERE DO THE RECYCLED PRECIOUS METALS COME FROM?
Bashford recovered precious metals from numerous post-consumer sources, including: • Existing jewelry • Industrial-use metals • Electronics elements
HELP US RECYCLE!
Our customers are our partners; we encourage them to recycle their own gold and platinum jewelry that they no longer use. We gladly accept and recycle any gold or platinum jewelry, and we offer a credit towards any Bashford purchase of equal or greater value based on current appraisal of the metal. Given that after 30 days from the initial credit notice, we have not received instructions to return jewelry to the owner, Bashford reserves the right to recycle all items sent in for evaluation and apply a store credit to the customer's account.
